I suppose the england fans need something in there life's to remind them what it feels like to be the champions of the world now the empire is dead and no one realy cares. Does anyone realise that recently a book was found that has the original rules for football written and predates the idea that england invented the game. Apparently the book is on display somewhere but heres the best bit, i love it, the basic rules for football as we know them wher in fact laid down and written by and in Scotland! This was in a national paper a few weeks ago! Wha's like us? Damn few and there aw deed!

It became defintley Tony Adams. He performed against Spain elderly 2 many years, 131 days on 18 Feb in a delightful. This made him the 1st participant to play for England who wasn't born formerly England gained the international cup.

Because it was a great achivement. We invented the game and then spread it to the world but before this we would have been world champions (American style) for years but it would be a bit rubbish bragging. We should just change the rules (as we can do this as we invented it) so we can win again and stop the 1966 talk.

1)They are English
2)It was a historical moment for our country.
3)It was built up this year because of The World Cup and it was also the 40 year anniversary.
Hope I helped!

it's the last time England won the world cup. They can't really say, and do you remember when they didn't qualify? do you remember when they got to the quarter finals? They could of course but it doesn't sound as good.
I do wish they would be a bit more positive though instead of knocking them all the time, concentrate on how much they have achieved. I think it would go a long way to helping them achieve more.

This is because they are proud of England and they talk about the world cup because it is the greatest competiton in football. And they only talk of 1966 because it is the only one england have won!!

It's to reinforce the idea that we can win and we should still be playing because we can win every hundred years or so at football and to try and keep English people interested in football when no matter how much money we throw at our players, they can't play football for toffee!

There's nothing else left on store It's pity that instead of Al Ramsey, the Charltons, Gordon Banks, Bobby Moore, today's England only begets poster-boys (i.e. Spciy Bekham)

a lot of them do it, but this is mainly motson's gimmick. i've never heard a man talk garbage like i've heard john motson talk garbage. the reason is because we're crap now.....need reminding that we could win 40 odd years ago, providing it was on home turf
to be perfectly honest most of the people watching the england matches weren't even born when '66 happened
