There is a great product called Dermal - you can get lotions and shower gel etc from your Dr or from a Pharmacist. This is not a steroid and will not only help with the itching but will also help with dry skin.

I've had it for years, had a TERRIBLE phase that lasted 6 months last year. 1.) See a Dermatologist (Skin specialist - appointment booked for you by a General Practice doctor). Even if you already have, say you still have problems, there are loads of different treatments and different Dermatologists all willing to help. I had a lot of creams that were useless. One "non-allergenic" cream that caused a red rashy reaction (GP did not believe me, saw another GP, got another cream, one month later the cream that affected me got bad publicity for a dodgy ingredient "Aqueous cream") Personally I have a steroid cream that clears up skin very quickly and stops irritation for a while after, it can burn or sting first time but it's not a bad thing and it works well. 2.) Probably a silly suggestion and you've tried but really make an effort to resist. Pure will power, lie on your back to sleep quicker and if you really have to then just touch or gently rub the itchy area, try not to think about it. Keep your room cool and see if that works, being too hot can make you more itchy. Good luck

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

Get an ice pack and put it on the affected area. Numbs the nerve endings and stops the itching. It's only a temporary solution obviously but I've used it a few times. Other than that, the only thing I find works is steroid creams like betnovate, I don't like using them but they're all that I can find that works.

i had that since i was born! n finally got rid of it about 4 yrs ago!
was such a relief!
i went to the chinese doctors... and they gave me a bathing lotion, a cream and a herbal drink... they also told me to cut out sugary foods, as they heat up the blood which then makes you itch.
i went at the start of the summer and began striaght away doing what i was told and by the end of the summer the eczema had gone away n i wasnt itchy anymore!
4 yrs later and its still gone! if i feel it gettin slightly itchy again at any point i just cut out sugar for a few days n then im fine again!

Have you tried washing with aqueous cream and maybe a sponge or flannel? It gets sore, itchy skin clean and soothes at the same time.
There is also a special gel/ lotion for eczema containing the African Sausage Plant availiable from selected pharmacies, my friend swears by it, sorry I cant remember its full name.

Usually it's an allergy, check it with a doctor.
Then avoid perfums in creams, soap, shampoo, etc.
Put a cream with " betametasona" a chemical related with cortisone in the irritated zone, this cream doesn't need medical authorization, and is affordable.(Shering Plough)
Dont scratch!

Awful stuff, try to realise that it is not bad as it feels/looks to you. Try if you can to relax, the more stressed you get, the inrease in blood flow to the area by vasodilation of the capillaries make the itching worse. Try relaxation techniques, wear only natural fibres, especially cotton, keep cool, watch dairy foods, and hopefully like me, I woke up one day and mine was gone! I hope yours does too someday soon!
