I got a new Emachines computer and I need to know how to retreive my pics from my old computer to my new one

Hey,
The previous answers are good if you have a burner or a fast internet connection. If you don't have either you can directly connect your computer to the other one via paralell port or ethernet port. However, you would need a null modem cable or crossover cord for this.

Easy -
Make both PC part of the same network [ip 192.168.2.2 and 192.168.2.3 would work], connect with an ethernet crossover cable. You could search by computer name, and each would be connected - drag & drop
If the new is XP [almost certainly] use
All Programs
Accessories
System Tools
Files & Setting Transfer Wizard [they don't tell you, but start with the NEW PC] & follow directions

email them to yourself from your old computer and open the email at your new one and download the pictures, or you can save them to a disc and redownload, they both work, but email is cheaper and easier
