You Know You Grew Up In The 80's or Early 90's If:

1. You've ever ended a sentence with the word SIKE.

2. You watched the Pound Puppies.

3. You can sing the rap to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and can do the Carlton

4. Girls wore biker shorts under their skirts and felt stylishly sexy.

5. You yearned to be a member of the Baby-sitters club and tried to start a
club of your own.

6. You owned those lil' Strawberry Shortcake pals scented dolls.

7. You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey on Blossom

8. Two words: Hammer Pants

9. If you ever watched "Fraggle Rock"

10. You had plastic streamers on your handle bars... and spokey-dokes or
playing cards on your spokes for that incredible sound effect

11. You can sing the entire theme song to "Duck Tales" (Woo ooh!)

12. It was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

13. You wore a ponytail on the side of your head.

14. You saw the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the big screen..and
still know the turtles names.

15. You got super-excited when it was Oregon? Trail day in computer class at
school.

16. You made your mom buy one of those clips that would hold your shirt in a

56. You remember watching Magic vs. Bird.

57. Homemade Levi shorts.. (the shorter the better)

58. You remember when mullets were cool!

61. You tight rolled your jeans.

64. You used to (and probably still do) say "What you talkin' 'bout Willis?"

Oh, the 80s were the cool years! I remembered people have cool , big, long, and eccentric hair styles. (Think someone got electrocuted). It's very curvy hairstyle. For male teenagers, they wear earrings and most of the times with cool dark sunglasses.
Everyone also copy the diva singer, Madonna, and even listened to her music everywhere.

In the early 80s, most ladies wear headband and mini-skirts. Oh yeah, I still remembered those times.

Men sometimes wear cool Hawaiian style shirts and jean-style shorts! Most people wear acid-washed jeans and jean jackets. I used to be one of these people back in the 80s.

Then when Michael Jackson becomes popular in the 80s, most people copy his fashion: Leather jackets, sunglasses at night, etc.

Oh, don't forget about the immigrants coming to America. There were so many, especially South East Asians and Hispanics.
I kinda miss the 80s!

best thing is to search the web. The category of your interest against the date and place you want to research. The 80's may have been experienced differently depending on what continent you found yourself at the time.

In Central America, that was the decade of war, that was a mess. You can find something on internet about it, specially in Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua.
When you finish your book let me know, I love that decade, specially the music.
