It's a very close race between The Exorcist and The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Watch them both.

The only movie that was intended to be scary that scared me was The Grudge. But the movie that scared me the most (and you got me as to why it does, especially since it was designed to be a family friendly movie) was ET the Extra-Terrestrial. That movie gave me nightmares for weeks, and it still messes with me whenever I try to watch it now.

i have never really seen a movie that actually scared me.I was pretty much raised on horror movies though.the only movie that even came close (please remember i was about 10 at the time)was Friday the 13th part one. Then it was only the ending where Jason surges from the water.
The funniest horror movie of all time has got to be Silent Night Deadly Night.

Cannibal Holocaust is greater of a aggravating action picture than frightening. in case you do not ideas staring at real animals get killed on action picture. As for a hollywood kind action picture, it unquestionably relies upon on your flavor, and what quite gets to the middle of you. some human beings like zombie video clips, some human beings like hack n' curb video clips. i in my view like organic catastrophe video clips, not via fact their frightening, yet via fact they might exchange into very real, and for me that's the scariest ingredient accessible.
