Well what's your purpose in life? In the end whether you are a human, an ant, a daisy or an elephant, you're just meant to live your life, nothing else. If you want to reproduce, fine with that, but it won't change anything if you don't. You're one of millions...but the only one who's you. That's the same for everything else. No one knows exactly why we are living, but i think confronting with the universe we are all the same, whether you're a daddy long legs or a human.

Most people think these creatures are spiders, but they aren't. If you look closely, you will see that spiders have two body parts, while daddy-long-legs have only one. When they walk, daddy-long-legs use their second pair of legs to feel their way, just like some insects use their antennae. There are numerous species of daddy-long-legs. These animals cannot bite.
They eat alot of differant insects............Flo

I have always admired the daddy long legs..they also go by other names.... but.. Daddy-long-legs are not actually spiders, and they do not have venom glands.
They are part of the ecologocai system as everything else is.. they eat on slow moving insects, eats eggs of other insects and even earthworms.

There is a great circle of life and these creatures are a part of it as well as we are. they eat other insects and they are also eaten (providing nourishment). in my youth, they provided hours upon hours of entertainment. i would watch them and collect them on my front porch, place them in Dixie cups with some grass and they would be my "friends" or pets. i would let them walk up my arms and roll aroung the grass looking for more. i was for many years , an only child and my dad away alot. so i have a special fondness for them. i am happy to be reminded or the simple pleasures of my childhood years. they are harmless and i hope that you dont mind them too much after reading this.

A few people have asked this question, and it confuses me. What is anythings purpose in life?
They are simple insects that must feed, excrete waste and reproduce. True, they wont be working out complicated mathematical formulae, or working as brain surgeons, but they have their place on this earth just as we do.

They are not dangerous and actually are quite beneficial in that they capture and eat many types of insects that are considered pests and poisonous spiders, including black widow and brown recluse spiders.
