FOG

THE fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
It is for Carl Sandburg. What do you think?

In this poem, fog is a personification meaning it has a life or personality which appears suddenly and quietly but only remains for a very short while. It hovers over the world and disappears just as calmly as it came. This poem gives me a sense of peace and well-being.

i remember doing that poem in school. i liked it, the idea of little cat feet is a lovely metaphor. my teacher hated it, though, and tried to brainwash the entire class into hating it too.

Not bad, it's pretty good. A little short for my tastes, but good. Good work.
