in america, here are the race descriptions:
white: mutt of mixed european stock. we dont care that you can trace your lineage back to mideval times. saxon, pict, milesian, fir-bolg, teuton, scandanavian, screw your ancestry!
black: mutt of mixed african stock. ethiopian, zulu, baka, we dont care. youre darker than the congressmen who made up this list, so check black
asian: has black hair and slanty eyes. we dont care which ethnic group youre actually from.
ameican indian: check this box if your ancestors were forced onto a reservation. we dont care about your tribe's name.
pacific islander: this one was made to appease the hawaiians.
other/multiracial: its just our way of calling you a mongrel.

Actually, there are only 4 races, Caucasian, *******, Mongoloid & Semitic. Caucasians are what is commonly called "white" but includes many darker skinned folks as well. ******* folks have dark skin(lots of melanin), Mogoloid folks are what we call Oriental. Most American natives & Eskimos are in this category also. Semitic people are the Jewish & most of the Arabs. Of course there are a lot of mixtures of all kinds too. Did you know that forensic anthropologists can look at bones & tell you what race/s a person was? It is truly interesting. The races really are not based on skin color but on bone structure & hair type, etc.
Someone from a certain country is stating their nationality, not their ethnicity.

White is not a race. Irish is different from Swiss or Sweden or Russian. Some Mexicans are white. Some French are very light skinned. What about the English, Scotch, German.

I think you are confusing the terms "white race" and "Caucasian". "Caucasian" comes from a mountainous region in Eastern Europe, the Caucases (sp?). Apparantly the people from that region were quite fair-skinned. Eventually the term for those tribes was applied to all people with fair skin, that were not of asian descent.
Someone from southern Italy would probably not be considered "white"; they would be considered "olive" or "of Mediterranian descent".
I wouldn't worry about it. It's just a label about complexion, nothing more.

I'm not sure I understand your question. The different shades of skin color come primarily from environment, and some to The mixing of different skin color. Most of The “differences” between people are due to environment.

you could say the same thing about black people or Asian the idea is just ridiculous the idea of race itself is ridiculous. We are all humans any human who describes or identifies themselves by the color of there skin is a racist. They could justify it anyway they want make any excuse they want. Calling yourslf anything but human is Racist.
