I have a 7 month old baby girl. She is in the begining stages of crawling, and I put her on the floor to practice. My apartment has hardwood floors, and I have some area rugs around. My baby has the tendency to jerk her head back and forth( it is just something she has been doing for months) and while she was on her knees, crawling, she banged her head pretty hard on the floor. She has a small, dime sized ,light greenish mark on her right temple. Should I take her to the hospital? This is my 2nd child and Iam trying not to be as overprotective as I was with my first. I had the tendency to over exagerate everything! So I do not want to do that again. Is it neccessary, do I need to call her pedi?My hubby is at work right now, I don't want to worry him, or should I call? If your going to make a silly comment or judge me, keep it to your self!!!! Serious answers only! Thanks so much!

I think that you know your daughter well enough to know if her behaviour has changed at all. Just keep an eye on her for the next few hours, and don't worry. I think that she'll be fine. Little babies are more resilient than we give them credit for.
Use your own judgement.
I think that your daughter will be okay, honey!

A little thing like your baby already on the floor has not fallen from a height and the bump on her head is probably superficial the bruise mark is natural. If you have any arnica cream rub a little on it and a little more later on/ Or witch hazel These are useful things to have by you in case of bumps or bruises. She is amazing to be crawling at 7 months I must say. Do not be too eager to take a child to hospital with bruises which have occur ed naturally.Sometimes the wrong interpretation is made and Social Services are called in with unfortunate consequences. Just watch her carefully and use your instincts.

Hun, if he has a temperature, he has a temperature, not something to do with bumping his head. If he has, he's probable the two a)Teething or b)Brewing a chilly. If he has not something incorrect different than the temperature then merely provide him some calpol and a few cuddles. If it does not circulate down, then you grants calprofen too - yet stagger it so as that he has exchange medicine each and every 2 hours (i.e. 2pm calpol, 4pm calprofen, 6pm calpol etc etc). i'm particular he would be merely high quality nevertheless. 7 months is the age while they commence bumping their heads and assorted different places plenty. My 10 month previous has a greater or much less everlasting bruise on his head the place he persistently bangs his head or falls over (he's commencing to stroll now!!).

I think it should be OK. If she was hurt she would be crying a lot or getting really sleepy. My son is 7 months also and going through the same thing. We also have hardwood floors and a rug in the living room but he crawls all over the house. Good Luck

She's fine. When my son started crawling he used to hate stopping and would go right into a wall, or sit and bang his head against stuff intentionally. It's just a little bruise, one of many she'll have in her life. Just relax, she'll be ok :D.

Is the bump or brise poking out or did it curve in? If its poking out like a bump then she is ok if it is dented in that is not a good sign. If she did not try to fall asleep or throw up then she should be okay.

Kids always get bruises on their head. My son is 2 and his nickname is "Bruiser" because he cannot go more than a week without a bruise on his forehead.
