What? Someone said we get closer to finding the meaning of life with each generation? I don't agree. They are all just as mixed up. Maybe people are becoming better actors having evolved from an understanding we won't know the meaning of life. Its SO ODD to me how we live our lives pretending we won't die!
Beautiful women with their fashion, guys with cool cars, we are entertained by actors and some idiots are entertained by commercials even though we know they are acting.
Why bother? cause their are antidepressants that can lift you to a point where u may not care, but you won;t get as down about it, so you live.
Why bother with those or to live when you are just gonna die anyway? Maybe there'd be someone who would have a hard time dealing with your death.
I am not sure why I bother. I am at kinda a bad place now, but maybe I think things will change.
If u think or know they won't change? maybe u choose to convince yourself its worth living, by acting like you have value by exercising and treat yourself in respecting ways.
Maybe you don't want to give others the satisfaction of knowing you killed yourself. Some idiots think this is a weak or even cowardly or self-centered thing to do.
Maybe you think of one thing you want to do in life, experience, see, meet someone, live till some specific event happens, and when you get this, set another one.
Maybe you could prolong it with alcohol or something and drag it out and at least have fun dying.
I know this sounds unhealthy, but I think your brief question was the best one I have read so far.
I also think people are into self-delusion, and subconsciously convince themselves they are wonderful or have some REALLY MEANINGLESS and relative attribute, and thats enough. Some idiots seem to be motivated by comparing themselves to those around them.
To me, this is the ultimate of immature, but they find their niche, be it the "tough guy" "smartest" "most successful" or some label.
How many attractive women do you hear saying looks are over-rated, fame isn't as great as everyone thinks, or guys who divorce attractive women. I say that cuz some people are cought up in how attractive they are, and I believe are always on stage, so it appears like they are happier than they really are.
I bet many people ask "why bother," but they don't tell anyone. If they did, people around them would give stupid platitudes like "there are people starving in Africa who don't complain," or convince u that you have it so good. They totall miss the point!
I wish I had a better answer for you, but this is a hard question for me.

Meaning of live is not yet found, sorry. But we get closer for each generation of people. Enjoy life with the all reason, believe and feelings you have that's make you happy. Happy is good, the universe wants you to be that maybe for some reason.

I bother because it makes me feel more alive. It's much better to 'bother' than not to 'bother'.
