I've always wondered about what the heck the E stood for in Wile's name but no one could tell me. Just curious. (shugs)

It's a play on words. Specifically the word "wily", meaning cunning or crafty, much like Wile's character. It's pronounced Why-lee, hence the name Wile E. Coyote = Wily Coyote.

His middle name is just an initial. But in case you just don't get it think, wiley coyote, as in clever.

E is not an initial it's a play on words with his name - to be wiley is to be crafty/ shifty
