The Texas coast has its fair share of hurricanes, but places like Arizona and New Mexico are pretty far inland and are generally not very much affected by tropical storms of any sort.

The Pacific temps are just too cold, it takes warmer water to help generate the force of a hurricaine. Thank God!!
