As far as tinnitus (note spelling) it has many causes and is not always cureable. The staring reminds me of absence seizures but I'm not saying that this is what's affecting you. My professional advice to you is to see your primary care health provider. This is where you start. If your provider deems it appropriate, she/he will refer you whatever specialist(s) you need to be seen by.

Sounds like post traumatic stress disorder. Do you have flashbacks of anything when you're staring? Or you could just be in a meditative state. Oh, the ringing, will most likely never go away. It may stay the same, or get worse. Tinnitus is ringing in the ears. It's uncureable, and is most likely caused by exposure to loud noises. i.e.. Rock Concerts, race cars, etc, or in my case, bombs and mortars and gunfire.

I have tinnitus myself and can't stand it. my left ear is worse cos its full of wax. nice I know! I use olive oil in my ears to clear the wax cos they are reluctant to syringe when you have tinnitus. as for the staring I'm not sure. it could be your sense of balance due to the ringing but I would definitely see a specialist just to be sure. anything like this you should take seriously. I would make an appointment as soon as you can. hope this has been of some help.

I do the same thing! I think it's pretty normal but if you're concerned don't hesitate to see a doctor.
