I know it sounds mean and judgemental but I do have to agree with you. Its easier for people to point their fingers and give excuses why they are "have nots' instead of the "haves' and I will give a true example: my friend did not graduate from high school, and she put her application for a very high paying job with the rail road and all they required is a GED or high school diploma. She did not get the job. I talked her into going back to school to get her GED. that was over a year ago and guess what? She went to class a few times and quit. She works as a maid and told her boss she cant work 40 hours a week , she can only work 32 hours a week or her rental assistance would be cut. So you be the judge... pitiful...It's hard to feel sorry for her even though she is my friend. She made her choice.

You're obviously a rich spoiled jacka**! Although this is true for some people it is not true about all poor people and your are very ignorant to think that it is. I know a lot of people working 2 or 3 jobs who still can't pay their bills and it's Not from lack of trying or motivation as you call it or lack of self esteem. Get off your high horses and maybe get to know someone who is poor and really talk to them maybe you'll learn something and become a more compassionate person.

No it's your fault
Why did you ship 27 million jobs overseas.
Why did you raise the cost of health care 650%
Why did you close the re-education door.
Why did you stop mental health care to those that need it
Why do you aggregate the desperate with the disenfranchised.
Millions of Americans have lost their homes and lively hood. American Industry was exemplary at hiring the handicapped. Thousands of disabled Vets worked in Plant Maintenance at factory's all across America. As those factories closed it left the most needy with no direction.
Not everyone can work at WallMart.
Not everyone is lazy. I am lazy but smart enough to make a good living.

Self-esteem is a characteristic that not all people have. Some kids are raised/taught by adults who constantly put them down and stripped them of any confidence. Low self-esteem may result in lack of motivation.
Laziness is a learned behavior. We aren't born lazy or motivationally-impaired, but some people are actually born poor.
These things may affect some people's goals, ambition, or achievements, and as a result, their income... but not to any fault of their own.
I know many people who are at poverty level and they are all hard-workers without self-esteem issues. Maybe because the cost of living has risen every year for the past 7 years, yet minimum wage hasn't seen a rise in that long, at least.
A study showed that a person working full-time (40 hrs) at min. wage is still considered to be at poverty level! ((this study was done in 2006))

Yeah! Why don't they just enroll in Ivy League Schools!!!! It's totally their fault they're in the situation thet're in. Especially the working poor.....don't they realize that they need to endure pay cuts while CEO's and VP's buy weekend homes? What the heck is wrong with these people? I'm sure they've been offered EVERY opportunity that the wealthy enjoy!
I'll be damned if I have to pay a higher tax rate (which is still lower than most other countrys in the world) Just so these people can get luxurys like public education!

While Bush'y continues to provide tax breaks for the rich, the poor will keep getting poorer.
The democrats stand up for the less fortunate people, and after the fall elections, you finger pointing repubs are going to be taking a back seat, as the do nothing Congressional repubs are retired to do nothing on a full time basis.
Just think, the impeachment proceeding's for King George are just around the corner.
Oh, happy day!,

Sounds like you've never been poor or known any truely poor people. Alot of poor people are lazy and alot of people who think they are poor, really aren't. However, most poor are doing everything...working, etc. They just don't make enough to live. Only a rich idiot who has everything would think otherwise.

People don't have to work when they are given everything by our government. They feel that this country owes them for what ever reason. Why do you need motivation, when you are handed a check each month, given food stamps, clothing, etc. It's not a lack of self esteem, it's laziness!!!!

Wow...I bet people who have attitudes like yours really work wonders for their motivation and self-esteem, huh? Maybe it is people like you who are at fault.
You'd better hope that the bottom doesn't fall out of YOUR life one day, it can happen in the blink of an eye and sometimes NO amount of foresight can prevent it.

I have to disagree with you almost 100% on this. When you grow up and have walked in more peoples shoes then I believe you will have a different thought on his topic. Until then, do yourself a favor and keep your eyes open and your mouth closed.
