I live in an apartment complex that refuses to fix things when they go wrong in the apartment. For example, my bathtub does not drain properly. It takes about two to three hours for it to drain after you take a shower. That is not how a tub should be. They have came up to fix it before and blamed me for putting a mop down the drain and then a washcloth, both of which I have never done. They refuse to come up and fix anything else with it. The sink is the same exact way. I dont know what I should do to get them to fix it. Is there a number to call or somewhere I could look to get help on getting my apartment to fix things? I dont know what my options are.

Report it to your city's or town's code enforcement office. I hope this helps you out. Ciao.

what were the floods caused from in your bathroom? since you had 3 floods in your utility closet that means at least 2 of them must have been fixed and what were those from? water leaking into your dining room probably means the person upstairs left the water running in their kitchen while they were on the phone (that happened to me once) and if they cleaned up the mess upstairs then it shouldn't leak again. Why on earth would you report this stuff via voicemail? You need to report it in person and by letter so as to document your need, and you'd do it certified mail return receipt so that if there is mold or something dangerous like that then you'd pay the court until the guy fixed it, and/or moved into a hotel room until it's fixed and make the guy pay your hotel room fee until the place is fixed. Sorry but I can't go to your links. He's probably not answering now since it's so close to your moveout date and figures if you had to move out you would and then the two of you could argue the last two months rent and the deposit getting in court. You'd only affect your credit if you didn't pay, but appearing in court or taking him to court doesn't mean you're not paying. so start to look for another place. Sometimes people are ill, sometimes there's a death in the family, and sometimes there's a foreclosure going on or maybe he's working on a home in NJ or NY where there's been bad flooding or he or someone else in his family has had misfortune. you don't know why he's not responding to you. .

Get ahold of your local or state Housing Authority and file a complaint. They will inspect and document problems so that you have evidence and documentation before going on to court!!! It is cheaper and more thorough. Don't forget to take pictures too or video cam it!
Social Services can be called as well! Use them for docs and evidence building your case. Then file with local Housing Athority or courts.
Look up your states laws on slum lords. Get a lawyer when these things are done.

Hire a plumber, and let it go. Is all that fighting worth the $100 or so to pay a plumber? It's just a living expense. I'd rather have the drains clear and not bother being so obstreperous. If you move, they will deduct the repairs from your security deposit anyway.

It would be helpful if you told us what city you live in, but in lieu of that, type in the search bar landlord-tenant, and then click on what the search turns up to see if there are any relevant segments. Include your state after the words landlord-tenant.
I just did this for a couple of folks, but I knew their locations and was actually able to come up with the proper links.
You will too.

as stated keep documentation of the complaints that you have had with the unit and the type of response you have had. try and get the names of the maintenance technicians that have come to the unit. if the apartment complex has a home office contact them in writing keeping a copy for your records, if owned by a individual you can contact the local health department that governs health and safety

Contact Fair housing. They will be able to tell you your rights and help you take the steps in order to correct a problem.

Moving is ALWAYS an option. If you don't have time to move, you don't have time for a lawsuit.
