Should Catholics take to the streets like savages in response to the burning of the Pope’s effigy?

And should they dunk effigies of Islamic leaders in vats of pig fat?

Some have not noticed the sarcasm in this question. Of course the Catholics will not react that way. They are too civilized for that. It has been centuries since the Catholics have committed the kind of atrocities that some Moslems are committing today. They evolved and do not react to slights by taking to the streets like wild packs of idiots
To N3WJL – The pope did not insult God; he was just questioning Islam’s violence. Moreover according to Catholics, the Pope though he is a man is God’s representant on earth; they could take offense in the burning of his effigy if they were so inclined.

Note I am not a Catholic, I am agnostic.

I think the pope is right. He meant what everyone here is thinking, concerning religious extremists out to hurt and kill others. It is wrong and I am glad he took a stand. Someone, besides our idiotic president, with some morals needs to do it. It and he did not mean, in my opinion that all Muslims or whatever of Islam faith are bad--it is in reference to the atrocities the terrorists and plans of the extreme crazy people are attempting to do and teaching their children to do. That is is real and not fiction. What is so bad about addressing it. Did anyone watch Gary Beck's video. Does anyone watch the news. If so, then more people need to see what is going on and stand up for their rights. Freedom of speech is a good thing!

ABSOLUTELY NOT, to both questions, but then again, should the Pope be allowed to "insult" and entire group of people and then claim that what they heard him say wasn't what he really said? I am not catholic and I don't disagree with what the Pope said "in theory". I just think he should have worded it more carefully so they couldn't claim that he had insulted them.

neglect that and start up non violent demonstrations to get the Muslims out of our countries lower back to the Arabic states they got here from. all and sundry that has substitute into Muslim would desire to connect them. enable us to unfavorable western infidels in peace. i'm not fascinated interior the Muslim style of gown it is so drab and would not fit my coloring. so as that they are in a position to stick their ideals the place the sunlight would not shine. they don't worship the comparable God that Catholics do anyhow. examine this internet site i stumbled on with regard to the Muslims Allah, the Moon God.

Yes and no. Yes, because we need to show them that if it is OK for them to act this way, then it's OK for us to. But no, because they are crazy and it would ignite riots, murder and possibly world war 3 in a traditional sense. Not the world war 3 were fighting now with terrorist. We're better than that anyway.
