Ed Gein (not Geen) inspired several moovies: "Psycho", "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Silence of the Lambs". A man came to a store his mother ran after hunting deer. She was gone and so was her truck. There was blood behind the counter, both splattered and smeared. On the counter was a bill for some anti freeze Ed had ordered. This man recalled that Ed had been annoying his mother by asking her out. The sheriff searched Ed's place and found the missing woman hanging by her heels. She had been decapitated and gutted. Many other grisly trophies were found. He had dug up corpses and shot several women. He cut off the skin and made masks of some of their faces and had a vest made of women's skin. He danced in the moonlight while wearing these items. His mother was domineering and thought sex was evil. I won't tell all of the grisly details about what she did, so use your imagination. She drove Ed nuts, but he worshipped her. He was obsessed with women nearly her age and looks. His brother dared to criticize her, and he died in a brush fire. It was thought to be an accident, until Ed's later crimes were revealed. Ed was placed in a nuthouse. "I wonder why", as Johnny Carson often said.

Not sure but I believe Ed Gein was the inspiration for Psycho. I do know that the texas chainsaw massacre had almost nothing in common with the serial killer that inspired it.
The real serial killer was reportedly seen wearing a human mask once or twice. And that's about all that he and the movie had in common. He actually did that animal-stuffing as a hobby and just sort of carried it over to his human victims. (forget what the skill is called. hehe. my brain is gone today.)
If i remember correctly he never used a chainsaw to kill his victims, he worked alone, did not eat his victims. etc. etc.
I think Psycho was closer to the truth and it was also very far off. He didn't run a motel, but he did kill several people in a Bar I believe. And he did Kill his mother If I remember right. And they did find a lot of his victims stuffed inside his house.
He had killed people over a span of 10 or 20 years I think until he finally lost it later on in life and goofed up and he was caught. If I remember right he also had a good friend for a very long time. (I think he finally killed his friend because they discovered what was inside his house? I can't be sure.)

A lot of people think it really happened, It's actually very loosely based on Ed Gein, who in the 40's and 50's dug up graves and did gruesome things with the skins, The movie Psycho was also based on Gein, Do a search on the net for more info.

The only thing that´s true there was a murder called Ed Geen (don´t remember) he kidnapped kids to his farm, where he killed them brutally: chopping fingers, ripping off skin...He made masks with the skin of the face of his victims and he killed hundred of people.

I had an argument with some people about that, but for the most part we believe that not all of it but some is true. We're to lazy to do the research but most of it is true, in my opinion.

That was just a made up movie. However, I do believe some people are stupid enough to try it.
