Its hard to eat a complete balanced diet without eating meat, but it can be done. Just make sure she is getting plenty of protein. Smoothies are a great way to mix soy milk and some soy protein powder in with your fruit and/or juice. Get some literature on vegetarian eating and make sure you are giving her the right combinations of foods to replace what she would be getting from meats.

Absolutely! The key to a healthy diet is that it be well rounded, have lots of variety (a steady diet of Cheezies is NOT healthy) and include all the food groups. So carbs, proteins (remember that the building blocks of all cells contain protein so vegetables have protein in them), and fats.
There are so many fabulous vegetarian foods on the market now too that it makes it easy. Wonderful veggie burgers, veggie weiners, flavored tofu, moc chicken cutlets. The list is enormous, and most are very tasty.
I taught vegetarian cooking for 10 years and would often have concerned mothers in my classes. I was able to put their minds at ease and supply them with some great recipes that teenagers love.

NO, people were meant to eat meat. Why do you think you need those things to replace protein that your not getting? If you weren't meant to eat it you wouldn't have to replace it now would you? Eat meat, that is an easy and sure way to get all the essential protein and minerals that a growing body needs.

Growth period of life and an active physical agenda requires a goodly amount of protein. You need to closely examine what you eat to ensure you are getting a sufficient amount of that particular foodstuff. Youth is one of the 5 periods in your life when protein is required in copious amounts.

YEAH! At least you know she is healthy and and has strong beliefs of what ever reason she is a veggitarain. The only thing I would be worried about is lack of protein that does come from meat.
