Mark's brother David played guitar in Dire Straits.
Dire Straits was a British rock band, formed in 1977 by David Knopfler (guitar), his brother Mark Knopfler (guitar and vocals), John Illsley (bass), and Pick Withers (drums), and managed by Ed Bicknell.

I don't understand the ques-he was im Dire Straits do you mean you also think he had a brother that was with him in the group?
Just looked it up it was David Knopfler and he founded the group

yes he did have a brother in the band but i think he left before they hit the bigtime sorry but i cant remember his name.
