I vote for the candidate who is not as much of a p ussy. In the last few election cycles, that has meant Republicans. What say you?

Hmmm... you use very interesting criteria. Guess that means you don't have to think much, so it probably works well for you.

What determines how I voted in the past was how intelligent the person seemed (intelligence is good, in my opinion) and what postions they took that I considered correct.

Now, I'm pretty much going to ignore Republicans because they don't seem to have much respect for the Constitution or anyone else's religion or right to live.

Sad, because I was raised as a Republican, but I can't abide the current crop of money-grubbing, lobbyist-controlled fascists.

i vote for the person whom i feel will do the best job according to what i think is best for the country as a whole.
in my case, this means that they will be Republican and Conservative. they could also be Libertarian.

i am not a member of any parth because i think that both the Dems and the Reps are not interested in doing what i think is best for the USA. they are only interested in staying in power and will do ANYTHING to do so.

the current batch of trash we have in office in DC have but one purpose in life and that is to get re-elected. period.

if only Potomac Fever were actually fatal.

I am a registered Republican and have always voted such. I live in CT, where we have "moderate Republicans" like Chris Shays. I will never vote for him again. He has blocked oil drilling, believes global warming is true and caused by humans, votes for big government programs. He is right on some issues. I am tired of voting for Republicans that are not conservatives. Democrats have been hijacked by communists, anarchists, and socialists. No votes from me here. My protest votes vary by situation. I plan on writing my own name in for Congress. Senate, Schlesinger the Republican, not known by many in the Lieberman/Lamont fiasco. He gets my vote because he used the term drive by media, which is from Rush Limbaugh. Lamont is a communist and a traitor. He has no business in the Senate. Lieberman is a socialist and liberal, no thanks. The Republican is the best choice.

I go by whether or not they are the best person considering the times for the job. Just because someone can be a great person in one aspect of life does not mean they can be a good president(i.e. Jimmy Carter)

The performance of the individuals, and party. If party members hang together and things don't go well usually go for the leaders with the blame. This year I'm blaming the party.

If that's the only criteria you use then I would suggest you rethink your decision making process, look around the country and the world since Bush took over as president.

My husband is pretty smart so I tend to follow his beliefs...however sometimes he is off base, and then I just go with my gut. The feeling I get from the candidate's belief system, the way they approach an issue, and their past track records.

A strong stance on foreign policy usually sways me. And also someone who does not bend the whims of what seems most popular at one time or another... someone with a backbone.
