And just what kind of an Irishman are you to not be believin in the little people???
If you ha' not seen the evidence of big foot, yeti and the like, then don't be doubtin their existance.
Not all the crop circles have been fessed up to by folks as pranks, and the american government still won't let anyone into area 51.. or maybe you don't believe in that either.
Perhaps it is the little people playin the pranks...
Are ya also not believin in aliens? Are ya so arrogant as to think we are the only intellegent life form in all the galaxies?
Have ye no faith in anything?

There are ignorant, supersticious, uneducated and gullible people all over the world. America has them, Ireland has them-------Everybody has them. Because you read something about a country written by an idiot does not make it so. On the other hand, there are reasonable, intellegent, knowledgeable people in America, and In Ireland ! To generalize all Americans as believing that leprechauns exist is-----well, just that, a generalization. Do you honestly believe that a majority of Americans believe in leprechauns? Some people just prefer to believe a myth than the truth. I bet it is the same in Ireland as well.

Everyone, in some small child-like part of their brain, wants to believe in magic. Not just leprachauns, but fairies, ghosts, aliens, monsters, etc.
Most of the people that believe even after the prankers confess, believed long before. They just had evidence... for a little.

Only in the movies hun.
Edit: quote "And I must say I'm a bit surprised that a question like this would result in so many cheap shots against the US. Such stupid answers. It's disturbing."
Childish people often make cheap shots, They don't have the intellectual faculties to make a statement without spouting hatefulness.

im irish and british but i live in america. I do not believe leprachauns are real, they are simply a fun tale for children. Some people around where i live (kansas city) have said to see a leprachaun! i think its ridiculous, but i have to remember, its all in good fun.

1. I'm of Celtic descent, 2. I practice Druidic and Shamanistic Wicca. 3. my children, brother, sister, late mother and I have had encountered "The Gentry" and/or Leprechauns off and on all our lives. if this family reality conflicts with your paradigm, too bad! You Think all the "Fair folk" faded away or went to sleep? Some came across with the Pilgrims, and are quite active!

I think all creatures are possible to exist at one time or another. All myths have a base in fact so, if they are not real then where did the stories come from in the first place?

Well, coming from an American: The majority of Americans are stupid, so believe it's possible that many believe leprechauns are real. However, I think anyone with half a brain could figure out that it's fictional.
I'm sorry that this country houses so many idiots. It's sad, but true.
