I think so, because his versitility, he is able to play the one guard when his tema needs him to penetrate and pass, and he is also able to play the two guard when his team needs him to score. On the defensive end, he can disturb the other one guard and force tough shoots, and he has that awesome three point shoot.

Arenas is a great shooter and a very competitive player, but he is not the best point guard, if we mean true point guard. He is more of a combo guard, a point guard with a shooter's mentality, although if he puts his mind on it, he can play like a true point guard, dishing out assists and running the team plays like a true point guard. I would rank him a close second to Steve Nash though.

As I noticed a lot of people who answered this question go for Steve Nash and I have to agree with them, at least for now. Chris Paul is up and coming as well as a few others. I do Like to watch Gilbert play though and he does have some class.

I feel bad cause when I played NBA Live I traded him because he wasnt all that good in that game. But now I'm sorry. But I think Allen Iverson is the best but I might put Steve Nash second and Gilbert third.

he is a top pg, but he isnt the best because he shoots way more than a pg only player needs to.
I would say players like Steve Nash and Chris Paul are more pure pgs that would be considered better than Arenas for the position unless a shooter is needed

i think he is very underrated, and i think he is the best point guard in the NBA, but steve nash could also take that claim.

no, because he's more of a two then a one. he's an off-guard to say the least. he only plays PG because he likes to have the ball in his hands at all times. as much as i hate to say it, the best PG is Steve Nash
