A product called Wartner, available in Boots. It works like the stuff they use at the doctor, and works really well. I've barely ever needed more than one application and it's much more convenient than having to go to the doctor for something so little.

A few years ago my son suddenly developed several warts on his fingers. We used the Dr. Scholl's wart remover pads. They are the ones with a small black disc that sticks to the wart and then a bandage that goes over it. They took a couple of weeks to work but the warts came right off. Professional freezing may work, but it left a dark scar on my sister's hand.

A recent scientific study compared dermatologists using liquid nitrogen to freeze the warts (the treatment of choice) with simply keeping duct tape on the wart. The duct tape won, by a wide margin.

Duct tape. Not even kidding.

Roll a small piece of it up so that the adhesive is on the outside - stick one side of it to the wart. Put a bandaid around it so it just looks like you got a papercut or something.

Trust me, this works. I had a wart on my finger for like a year - I put duct tape on it and it was gone in a week or two.

Whatever you believe in will work for you.
That's why there are so many recipes for the curing of warts.
Since you believe in science, I'd recommend the salicylic acid.

the only other thing (that I know of) where magic works as well as science are shingles.

And that's no joke!

It's supposed to be an old wives tale but it works. Get someone to buy it off you for a 2p piece (used to be a penny apparently) - not as daft as it sounds something to do with the copper in the coin! so there.

Salicylic acid comes as drops, gels, pads, and plasters. They are designed to apply to all kinds of warts, from teeny little ones to great big lumpy ones. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic, which means it dissolves the protein (keratin), which makes up most of both your wart and the thick layer of dead skin that often tops it.

I've had wart freezing at the docs, with moderate success - (forget similar-type Wartner, it doesn't work)
Best substance is Salatac, used with a scalpel every few days. chemis told me same ingredients as bazooka, but in different qunatities and works out cheaper. good luck
