Awsome 2 people whos Patriotism can not be called into question.. Questioning the very Goverment they work for. Very educated people who have been in positions of knowing what goes on behind the sceans of the Bush white house.. Its high god damed time... I can't believe you all haven't done it before

It was Mr Powel that stuck his neck out in the Bush lie of WMD.. Maybe he just isnt comfortable working for a war monger anymore.. Maybe he is realizing the true nature of why Bush is doing what he is doing... Maybe they both realize he is only trying to cover his *** by acting like he broke rules through ignorance ,
and wont let him.

Either way Mr Bushes house of cards is starting to fall and I think its awsome.. Maybe we can get Bin Ladden now.

I think Colin Powell is trying to redeem himself, and McCain is positioning himself for a presidential bid. Powell may be positioning himself for a McCain/Powell ticket. They'd have a real shot, as moderate Republicans.

Having said my cynical bit, I'm very glad they did it. The only way to make certain that the neocons lose their power is if Republicans have viable alternatives presented to them by prominent members of their party, and by the leaders they can choose to support.

McCain and Powell represent a very important trend away from the radical positions represented by the Bush administration; back to middle ground, where bi-partisan discussion and compromise is possible, rather than the bitter enmity engendered by extremism.

He in hassle-free terms ran against Bush interior the primaries in 2000. not the comparable ingredient as working head to head against a guy from the different social gathering. In 2004 John Kerry made a great deal approximately being a conflict hero and persons unquestionably offered that line. So McCain being an improved hero used it this time. in spite of the undeniable fact that it did not look to make any distinction. Obama gained, a guy who not in hassle-free terms did not serve, he not at all had to stand the draft and evidently he not at all even fired a gun. i think of he will do a great Neville Chamberlain impersonation.

WOW...what took them so long?
I mean...if they knew BUSH was/is an out-of-control , war-starting, Republican-fartbag, then why wait until now to speak out?
Gee whiz; over 2500 US troops are now dead and gone forever because men like them didn't speak-out in the beginning!
I wonder; how can they sleep at night?!

I say it's about time they showed some spine! Too bad they can't do it more often.

It would be funny - if it weren't so sad - how Bush proslytizes about democracy in Iraq etc. but subverts it here (no stinking Constitution applies to HIM!).

Politics-pure and simple. They are just distancing themselves from GW to further their political careers.

I lost all respect for both of them when they allowed themselves to be used by the bush regime.

As a liberal I respect their point of view, they will be branded by the far right as subversive or un-American.
