i do research some of the questions..like homework type stuff

5% is good, but I think you will do better in the future. The best answer is someone else's opinion and doesn't necessarily represent the real best answer all of the time. Making an effort to answers questions as best you can and actually doing research and providing sources is wonderful. I wish more people on here would do that. I think it is inevitable that the more questions you answer the lower the percentage of best answers will be. There are those on here who are level 42(or whatever) and have some pretty impressive percentages, but they have the experience and clout. The best, best answer percentage I have seen was not by someone who had good answers but a pic of a hot chick as their avatar pic. Another person I found with a high percentage of best answers had horrible answers, but got the best answer through default by being the only one to answer the question. Personally my answers are the best answers 15% of the time. I try to give the best answer I can, but the I do answer some questions because I feel the need to be funny. There is something of an ego-boost when you get that Best Answer, but I think in the end it's really arbitrary

That's average..I have 5 or 6. But really who gives a sh!t I like answering and asking questions and it's like yahoo has turned it into some competition, instead of answering people say "2 points" like I could really care less about points and levels I think it's stupid that is a source of pride for people.

Not bad. Sometimes the points don't go to the best answer, but to the FIRST right answer. Sometimes people don't select a best. And sometimes tow people can say the same thing, but one gives a little more detail (or a little less detail of the person hates to read).

it depends how many questions you have answered. If you have answered a lot of questions, then 5% is probably alright. If you haven't answered too many questions, then the percentage could be a little higher. just keep doing what you're doing, as long as you're trying to help people thats all that matters

Mine's at 10%. It dropped from 13%.
