Pus is the effect of an infective process and you are seeing the bodies defense mechanism at work.. but it may need some additional help.. need to apply some peroxide or similar wound cleansing formulation. If is does not subside within a limited time, may need to get medical help. Do not allow a red line to appear above the wound... is septic.

You've obviously got an infection - it could be cellulitis; you need to wash the wound with warm water and soap, and try to get the pus out; douse it with hydrogen peroxide and let it air dry. When doing any activity where the wound may come into contact with something, put some sort of wrapping around it to protect it from further infection. If it does get worse, you need to get yourself to a doctor so they can give you a medicine to help with the swelling and redness.

That's probably a staph infection....but it could be many other types of bacteria as well.
