He is a grand winner of 7 grandslams. He along with mahesh bhupati put India on the world tennis map with their marvellous performances at the highest level of tennis. If I am not wrong, he has won all four grand slams (like Andre Agassi) at least once. Time and again, he has outdone himself while playing for his country in Davis Cup matches, like when he defeated some top players like Ivanisevic. He is a true patriot who wears his heart on the sleeve. Hats off to the true champion.

No doubt that Leander Paes is a great doubles player but I dont think he's the greatest. He won 6 men's doubles grand slam titles and 5 mixed doubles titles and won 43 and 5 titles at the respectively event. If I'm not mistaken, Todd Woodbridge(Formerly known as one of "Woodies")has the all time record. He won 16 men's doubles grand slam titles (11 with Mark Woodforde, 5 with Bjorkman) and nine of them are Wimbledon titles .Amazingly, he had won all 16 men's doubles finals he reached. He has an all time record of 83 career doubles titles. And he won 6 mixed doubles titles. And he had achieved things that Paes hasn't achieved so far - complete both doubles and mixed doubles "Grand Slam" Therefore, I believe he is one of the greatest doubles tennis player ever. Hope my answer helps.

Yes he is the best player in tennis that India has produced. Take his decision to play the last Davis cup tie in reverse singles. He has no practice of singles match at that level and still he fought against all odds and won the match and so the Game. He always comes up with triumphs when needed, he has the magic which makes him a superindian.

No doubt about that. Leander Paes is one of the best ever tennis player produced by India. Although Vijay Amritraj and Ramanthan Krishnan were also great. They have been among the top tennis players of the world of their time.

I would rate Leander, Vijay Amritraj and Ramanthan Krishnan at same place. OK Leander slightly ahead because he won OLYMPIC medal for INDIA.

Yes. I agree. He is the best DOUBLES-TENNIS player that INDIA has ever produced. But please do not compare him to Agassi. Paes has outshone others in the doubles game (though his singles ranking isn't as fancy). He doesn't stand anyhere close to Agassi when it comes to singles game.
But as far a your question is concerned I agree with you.
