I use a foundation brush, however if the foundation is really thick you may have a hard time getting it to spread evenly. It that is a problem you can use a moist sponge. This does a good job of spreading it evenly. Take the sponge in your hand a put some clean water on it and then squeeze out excess. Then put some foundation on the sponge. Dot the sponge on the face so that you have a few blobs of makeup on your cheeks, chin and forehead. Then use the sponge to apply it evenly. If you don't have a sponge handy, you can mix the foundation in your hand with some facial moisturizer. This will help it spread evenly also.

I usually apply my foundation with a sponge. When you apply it your face, you want to put the product on your hand first, rather then directly onto the sponge. This way oyu can control the amount you are putting onto your face. Next, you want to put little dots of foundation around your face. You always want to blend downward toward your jawline, so there is no line of demarcation. That means that you can't tell you are wearing foundation. A great foundation that i use is by NARS and it is oil free. IT doesn't clog your pores and it stays put all day. You can purchuse it at Nordstroms or another department store.

It really doesn't matter. You use what you are most comfortable with. If you prefer one method over others, stick with it.

If you are a first-time user of the
-Brush may leave fine lines of color on your face if you use fluid formulas;
-Sponge uses up much foundation;
-Fingertips work best with short nails;

I can't think of any other method right now...

You may use a sponge, or a brush. Also the ones that comes in compacts.

it depends on the formulation of your foundation: If it's liquid or cream,then you may put small dots on your face then blend w/a sponge,or you may put a small amount on the sponge & apply it lightly on your face,then put a loose or pressed powder to set it in.If it's a cream-powder("pan cake"),then use the sponge that came w/ it on the compact & apply it lightly on your face (rub lightly),then blend. For all formulations,make sure to use your exact shade & blend up to your chin,so there'll be no demarcation line.
