You could probably work for an NGO or other body like the UN or EU, because your language skills are likely in-demand. They need both translators and people to work out in the field. If there are major immigration law firms in your city you could contact them as well. If you're not interested in capitalizing on your langauge skills, there isn't far you can go with BA in English. I know this because I have one! I have now returned to univeristy to get a B.Ed so I can teach; without the B.Ed I would not eligible to teach anywhere in my country. Like B.A. degree, it really doesn't do much for yu, but if you're lucky and the professor likes you, he may ask you to be his teaching assissant, so that he can more days off, avoid grading papers and take longer lunches. But let's say for interest sake that you do get the teaching assissant job, that will look favourabley toward a degree in English, which would in turn get you a teaching job, where you could get your own assissant and then you could bump the dog too.

It depends first of all which Uni you went to, rather than your degree. But the main areas tend to be advertising, media, journalism, teaching. But even finance banking accountancy etc.
Alot of companies dont care what you degree you have, as long as you:
1 have a good grade i.e 2:1 or above
2 from a good uni
3 do a good degree i.e english/history/maths/ rather than media studies/buisness studies etc
Btw im talking from a British perspective.
Oh and I do english lit, so im a bit biased.

You may want to try libraries. Since you know other languages, you may be good at cataloging books and other materials. Most libraries want librarians to have an MLS (Masters in Library Science) or something close to it. But, since you know other languages, you may be a fine asset to the library.
I am also including a link bout what to do with college majors. I haven't looked at it, but it was recommended by a librarian whose specialty is helping job seekers.

Jetgirly had some good ideas about translation services. How about the foreign service? The Pentagon? The CIA? I'm serious.
Otherwise, I have found that with the same qualifications, I can be retrained to do just about anything.

Try for a postition at the UN as a translator. Look for a job with the airlines, esp. lines that fly into Europe and would need people to communicate in German and Bosnian.
