I've never heard of reserved space on a hard drive. Just exactly what do you want to know?

Well.. some of the space will always be reserved for various purposes. However, u can drastically cut down on reserved space by disabling system restore on all drives or the drive in question. You can do this by doing the following:
1) Right Click on My computer
2) Select "Properties"
3) A window will open containing mutiple tabs.... select the system restore tab
4)There is a check box saying "Turn off system restore on all drives". Check that... and u're good to go!
I personally never EVER use this feature and so this increases the free space available which was previously locked.

you dont, that is reserved by the system to protect the O/S ... however, if you reformat the HD, then you will have all the space, but no operating system ... lol
