The last thing that i liked was descent, miami vice was garbage, as is 99% of the things that make it into the movie theaters

Treat yourself to "Gridiron Gang". It may be rather predictable but you will enjoy the ride. The acting was very good, not overdone. Although you know you're watching a movie, the characters make you believe what you're seeing. This is a very good film

Give "Hollywoodland" a try. It's the story of the actor George Reeves who played Superman in the 50's TV series. He later experienced an untimely death that may or may not have been suicide. Ben Affleck gives his best performance as the aging and despondent Reeves. Other actors are also excellent. 7 stars out of 10.
Alternatively -- "The Illusionist". Very clever plot line with more twists than a Swizzler. Oscar winning role for P. Giammatti. If you don't believe in magic, you will by the end of this movie.

miami vice was garbage, thats the last one I went to the theater for and I'm not going to risk seeing annother bad one any time soon.

I have been anxious to see the Black Dahlia. I did a report on it in HS though (years ago before Hollywood wanted to make a few bucks off the story). Murder Mystery if your into those

I was really surprised by Descent. Told all the women I know to watch it! It's not really a "chick flick" but I thought they might connect because of the female spelunkers.

The Black Dahlia was a great modern film noir
Definately recommend it.
