I dont think ortiz is really that overrated and im not saying that because im a red sox fan but the most over rated players are in NY.A-rod....he's overrated and over paid.......I would say he's # 1 and Jeter #2....

I would have to say A-Rod. Jeter gets a lot of attention, but atleast he performs consistently well. It sounds like people are misunderstanding the word over-rated. You have to think about the person who is least deserving of the hype they get. The difference between what people say they do and what they actually do.
By definition overrated means to overestimate the merits of.

how is Derek Jeter overrated. .346, lots of speed, and a great fielder. Papelbon, yeah hes done well, but no ones ever seen him pitch. next year everyone will just tee off against him.
