Even after a misscarriage, your body will still have hormons that will show up as a positive for about a month time.

That is the reason why they want you to test yourself and do follow up visits.

If still showing up after a month, consult your doctor and have ultrasound done to see if another pregnancy is detected or if you only misscarried a twin.

No, no, no twins are not the reason. When I had a miscarriage, the doctor explained that the HCG hormones, which prenancy tests use to detect if a person is pregnant, remain in your body such time until the body begins to recognize their is no pregnancy. The hormones return to a normal state eventually. On the reverese, when a woman finds out she is pregnant, these levels fall between a certain number. Depending on what the test result HCG number is, depends on how far along you are. The body produces more and more of the HCG numbers as you are further along.
The doctor started to test me almost every two weeks to see if they increased or decreased. When my numbers dropped, that let her know my body was no longer producing the hormone and that my body had determined I was no longer pregnant. She followed it up with a ultrasound, which sadly did not show a pregnancy either. By the way, until your numbers drop to a certain level, you can't get pregnant, even if you try to. It's like getting pregnant on top of being pregnant. The body doesn't operate that way.
Sorry about your miscarriage and hope I could help. When my body was ready, about 10 months later, I found out I was pregnant again. I am happy to say my little miracle daughter is now 8 years old. Thank God!

first of all im sorry to hear of your loss but they should have explained to you that this happening means that the pregnancy hormone is still present in your system although you are no longer pregnant, you need to see a doctor and they will perform a d&c on you to remove any traces of the unborne child from your whomb.

i found that doctors treat miscarraige really ignorantly it may be just a job to them but they dont seem to understand how hard it can be to take the news in

hopefully everything works out for you best of luck x

NO you dont have a twin left inside of you... unlike the first answer.

I had a miscarriage and they made me come back in to get a blood test done to see if my HCG levels went back down to ZERO.

Which mine was and I didint have to go get a D&C!!! That doesnt apply to all miscarriages.

I got pregnant again after that miscarriage and I am 5 1/2 months. No problem there.

I'm sorry to hear that.
You may still have some of the embryo not shed when you miscarried. If that's the case, your body will still test positive for pregnancy. That means you may need to have a D & C (dilation and curete) where they evacuate the remaining cells.
Hope you are cope well and are keeping strong.
Best of luck in the future.

It happened to me and i was still pregnant , i was carrying twins and lost one. but if you are sure that you miscarried then the levels of hcg hormone in your body sometimes takes up to 9 weeks before it can return to normal levels , that could be why the test i still coming back positive.

Many internet sites will allow you to recognize that it may take in to fifty 9 days to sparkling out of your gadget. contained related to a cousin of mine, he smoked each day for 6 years and it took 5 months to sparkling a try. even if it really is a hair try... do not even ensue. if you're attempting to drink like loopy to bathe it out... save it up yet do not try this on the day of the try. this is going to easily decrease to rubble the try and look fairly suspicious.
