changed onboard computer, engine fires off then dies. need to know code setting sequence to reset computer w/key

odb2 scanner said torqe converter stuck or off. changed ecm in hopes to free converter. changing converter & filter monday. should tranny be ok, does not smell burned oil on dipstick. trans just has no go foreward or reverse. am i correct in assuming these changes will solve problem?thank you for your response ironman. i am by trade a body & frame tech with 43 yrs experience. got trk restarted with no major hassel. i don't normally deal with mech. problems other than suspension & changing broken parts,water pumps,motor mounts,etc. this problem is my personal vehicle & cash is super tight lately. thanks again ironman sincerely ROJO

You don't give much info, so your help is going to be limited.
If you have a factory security system, you are going to have to go to the dealer and pay for them to re-flash it for your vehicle and security key.
If what you have is after-market, you are going to have to go to the original installer and ask them to reprogram the controller.
The question arises---- why did you replace the PCM to begin with? These almost NEVER fail on their own. If there was a failure, something outside of the PCM caused it to fail. Diagnosis is necessary to find what caused it to fail, and repair it, or it will certainly fail again.
