As a general rule, you will always get a better deal in the country that you are travelling to (normal banks not bureau de changes)

My advice is to change very little in the UK (usually Natwest is pretty good) and then change it when you get to the country.

post office gives a good exchange rate ,no commission & is trustworthy.other than that some countrys give good exchange rate in local shops like in grease.worth looking on one of the search engines if you have a lot of cash to change over.

Depends on how many you want - if you want a significant amount it's always worth ringing several local banks and exchange centres and see who will give you the best rate.

If you are doing thousands, or tens of thousands you'll be suprised at the differences in rate you can get by ringing round.

If you are exchanging small sums of moneys don't shop around. You will waste time for pennies. Just make sure they don't charge you a commission fee
