Nothing grows right in my yard, and I think I need to test the soil now that summer is over in case I need to put some lime or something in my yard.

You can buy testing kits, but is is so much easier to send a soil sample into your local department of agriculture.
You will get "the whole story" on what your soil needs, not just pH levels.
Contact them on the internet.

yes!! Here in Stockton, there is a place where they sell all kind of seeds and fertilizers!! And they also have the PH testers!!

home depot has a kit that is simple and reliable . my lawn is starting to look great.
