The Taurean's characteristics are solidity, practicality, extreme determination and strength of will - no one will ever drive them, but they will willingly and loyally follow a leader they trust. They are stable, balanced, conservative good, law-abiding citizens and lovers of peace, possessing all the best qualities of the bourgeoisie. As they have a sense of material values and physical possessions, respect for property and a horror of falling into debt, they will do everything in their power to maintain the security of the status quo and be somewhat hostile to change.
Mentally, they are keen-witted and practical more often than intellectual, but apt to become fixed in their opinions through their preference for following accepted and reliable patterns of experience. Their character is generally dependable, steadfast, prudent, just, firm and unshaken in the face of difficulties. Their vices arise from their virtues, going to extremes on occasion,such as sometimes being too slavish to the conventions they admire.
On rare occasions a Taurean may be obstinately and exasperatingly self-righteous, unoriginal, rigid, ultraconservative, argumentative, querulous bores, stuck in a self-centered rut. They may develop a brooding resentment through nursing a series of injuries received and, whether their characters are positive or negative, they need someone to stroke their egos with a frequent, "Well Done!" Most Taureans are not this extreme though.
They are faithful and generous friends with a great capacity for affection, but rarely make friends with anyone outside their social rank, to which they are ordinarily excessively faithful. In the main, they are gentle, even tempered, good natured, modest and slow to anger, disliking quarreling and avoiding ill-feeling. If they are provoked, however, they can explode into violent outbursts of ferocious anger in which they seem to lose all self-control. Equally unexpected are their occasional sallies into humor and exhibitions of fun.
Although their physical appearance may belie it, they have a strong aesthetic taste, enjoying art, for which they may have a talent, beauty (recoiling from anything sordid or ugly) and music. They may have a strong, sometimes unconventional, religious faith. Allied to their taste for all things beautiful is a love for the good things of life pleasure, comfort, luxury and good food and wine and they may have to resist the temptation to over indulgence, leading to drunkenness, gross sensuality, and covetousness.
In their work, Taureans are industrious and good craftspeople, and are not afraid of getting their hands dirty. They are reliable, practical, methodical and ambitious, within a framework of obedience to superiors. They are at their best in routine positions of trust and responsibility, where there is little need of urgency and even less risk of change, and a pension at the end. Yet they are creative and good founders of enterprises where the rewards of their productiveness come from their own work and not that of others.
They can flourish in many different trades and professions: banking, architecture, building, almost any form of bureaucracy, auctioneering, farming, medicine, chemistry, industry Taureans make good managers and foremen surveying, insurance, education and, perhaps surprisingly, music and sculpture. They make an ideal trustee or guardian, and can attain eminence as a chef. Some Taureans are gifted enough in singing to become opera stars or to excel in more popular types of music.
They are more than averagely amorous and sensually self-conscious, but sexually straightforward and not given to experiment. They make constant, faithful, home loving spouses and thoughtful, kindly parents, demanding too much of neither their spouses nor children. They can be over possessive and may sometimes play the game of engineering family roles for the pleasure of making up the quarrel. If anyone offends their amour proper they can be a determined enemy, though magnanimous in forgiveness if their opponent makes an effort to meet them halfway.
No other sign in the zodiac is closer to earth then Taurus. The main objective in leading a Taurean life is primarily (though not entirely) to maintain stability and physical concerns. Your inner spiritual sense longs for earthly harmony and wholesomeness. When you fully understand this, and work toward this end, you will no longer need to blindly reassure yourself with external possessions and comforts. A realization that finding this inner peace will cause all of the above mentioned positive things will overtake you and your life will be very full.
Ultimately the Taurean needs to discover their truest, deepest and highest values. When they know what is truly valuable, they are no longer chained to people and to things that have to do with lesser values. The greatest indication of value to a Taurean is beauty, which cannot be owned, only appreciated.
Most compatible sign: CAPRICORNS LIKE ME When Taurus and Capricorn come together in a love match, it's a practical, sensible partnership. These two Signs share a certain down-to-earth logic and interest in efficiency. Taurus is not interested in risking more than is necessary in terms of emotional connection and involvement, and Capricorn is similarly disinterested in risk, but more in terms of money and career. Capricorn's career is one of the great focuses of their lives; they're interested in scaling the heights and tend to set very high standards for themselves to adhere to. Taurus has high standards as well, but regarding love, relationships and possessions.
These two Signs admire one another's dedication and strength, but, while they have this in common as well as a dependable, realistic, somewhat conservative approach to life (Capricorn more than Taurus), a love relationship between them can go stale fast. The problem? They're actually rather different at their cores. Taurus may begin to find Capricorn too conservative and restrictive; Capricorn may start to think Taurus is too lazy and doesn't care enough about career and status. If Taurus can encourage Capricorn to relax a little and appreciate the fruits of labor, and if Capricorn can help motivate Taurus to achieve goals and make dreams a reality, their union can be smooth, happy and long-lasting.
Taurus is ruled by Venus (Love) and Capricorn is ruled by Saturn (Karma). Venus is a warm, feminine energy while Saturn is a cold masculine energy. Venus is all about sensual pleasures, the aesthetics of love, the beauty of art. All of these stimulate Taurus and heighten their appreciation of life and love. Saturn, on the other hand, is about hard work and discipline to achieve goals. Taurus will show Capricorn how to enjoy a well-deserved break every so often and how to appreciate beauty and comfort. Capricorn can teach Taurus to be more disciplined and to keep reaching out for what one wants.
Taurus and Capricorn are both Earth Signs. This couple loves to indulge in material possessions. They want to possess and be surrounded by beautiful things -- a lovely home, designer clothing, luxurious cars, works of art. Since they're both such hard workers, they can usually attain all these things, and hardly ever need fight about impracticality or overindulgence.
Taurus is a Fixed Sign and Capricorn is a Cardinal Sign. Taureans won't change their minds once they're made up. They possess a quiet, steadfast determination. Instead of finding this dull or restrictive, Capricorn regards it as a good, comforting thing: Taurus is clearly dedicated to the relationship.
What's the best aspect of the Taurus-Capricorn relationship? The similarity of their values and their dedication to the same goals. Both partners enjoy luxury and nice things, and they share resources well. Their mutual interests make theirs a highly compatible relationship

Hi, Well for starters I was born 5/18/1967. Taurus you are a peace seeking, loving, slow to anger who enjoys a routine, unexpected or unnerving surprises is not your thing. you make a decision and will stick to that to a fault. (Stubborn once you have made up your mind) Same in friendships once you find a true friend and really care for him or her you are there for a lifetime. My luckiest number is 8 favorite color is Green or a variation of green. Best color to wear Plum ... or Blue.
Last part I should warn you ..... the whole bull in a china closet stereotype? Not at all what everyone thinks it is, This comes from your ability to (when angered or trying to hurt another) say the one thing just the right way at the right time to inflict the most damage as anything on this planet. (as if you were putting the tip of your horn directly on their heart and piercing it!) This may sound cool but trust me bite your tounge BITE YOUR TOUNGE THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK once you say it it can never be taken back! coopercatcash@yahoo.com Peace out, Paul

I was born May 18th, 1983.
I am kinda bullheaded. Creative. Sincere. Talkative. I have a little social anxiety.
I am a hard worker and a dreamer. I believe in the good in people. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I value some objects, but mostly just the sentimental ones.
I love nature. Camping backpacking, canoing, white water rafting.. anything... even just playing catch.
I hope this gives you a little insight.

Well-balanced, you try to maintain things exactly as they are. This is fine when you're into protecting family heirlooms or hanging on to your after-school tutoring job, but sometimes you could be a bit inflexible. Still, your friends and family expect you to be a creature of habit, and you make those you take into your circle feel protected and secure. If you can, it would be good for you to accept that in life, the only truly predictable thing is change. It's possible for you to go with the flow and still be happy.
Your protective inclination would make you a natural in the field of finance, and your love of creature comforts could place you in a glamorous field like merchandising or home furnishings design. You have a taste for luxury items that are cushy and comforting, yet tough and durable.
You appreciate friends who are reliable and down-to-earth, like you. When it comes to love, you need a partner who's capable of being as adamant and insistent about his ideas as you are. Winning an argument is no fun for you unless you can let your guy think you gave in at least a little.

Taurus
Your element: Earth
Your ruling planets: Venus
Symbol: The Bull
Your stone: Emerald
Life Pursuit: Emotional and financial security
Vibration: Determined energy
Taurus Secret Desire: To have a secure, happy and wealthy life/marriage.
Description:
Underneath their cool, calm and collected exterior, Taureans differ greatly from all the other signs of the zodiac. Taureans manage to discreetly stay apart from the crowd, even though they have a well-earned reputation for being socialisers. They will let others get close, but only so close as they want them. Some claim that trying to get your point across to a Taurean, should they not want to hear you, is rather similar to talking to the trees – they simply won't budge. And, there is no such thing as an open-book Taurean. Their feelings, fears and desires often run far deeper than anyone around them would guess. Like the butterfly that chooses to remain hidden in its cocoon until it is ready and prepared to emerge, so the true Taurean spirit remains hidden behind a veneer of day-to-day activities. That's why Taureans are sometimes regarded as snobby, withdrawn, boring, or even sulky. The truth is, when Taureans manage to operate very adequately on their own form of automatic pilot, they can switch off from the world around them very efficiently. And when they do switch off, they are actually gathering in their inner reserves to deal with the outside pressures. This sign is also very closely connected to 'feeling good'. Most Taureans like their creature comforts and hate change because it takes them out of their automatic pilot condition of separating themselves from the world around them. Because they hate to be put in jeopardy of any kind, this is the sign that strives to create tomorrow in advance, rather than leave it to fate. In love, Taureans are regarded as extremely sensual beings. An earth sign, they deal well with the personal, physical senses and consequently all the pleasures associated with what they can see, touch, smell and taste, add up to a special delight to them. Often nature and pet lovers, Taureans are closely associated with all things off the earth and nature.
April 20 - May 20
The second sign of the zodiac is concerned with:
* beauty, romance, sentimentality, sensuality
* materialistic values, wealth, prosperity
* nature, harmony, love of living things
* possession, control, security, dependability
* habit, organization, tenacity, kindness
* shyness, cautiousness, trustworthiness, calmness
* appreciation of values, talents, abilities
Positive Factors
Taureans are very warm and affectionate toward their friends. They enjoy friendship with people who have good taste and with whom they can enjoy a quiet conversation or a concert or a football game. They will enjoy people who have strength of character and qualities of endurance like their own. Toward such friends, Taurus will always be gentle, kind, loving, and totally trustworthy.
Negative Factors
Taurus can be very jealous of any attention given to someone else. Taurus does not like signs of weakness, physical or emotional, and can be quite direct about them. Taurus prizes friends who have some power which they can share and enjoy. People who wear cheap perfume, artificial fabrics, and have houses that are built to deceive the eye, e.g., not real stone but faced with stone, are unlikely to attract the friendship of a typical Taurean.
I am Taurus too the 11th of May : )
Love & Blessings
Milly

Hi there...Missed your birthday by one day I was born on the 19th May, 1952.
Try Horoscopes on the internet for the full details on what a taurean is like.
Basically, we like routine, not any changes, we're creative, capable of many things buts are too modest to do anything about it. tend to be outspoken, placid until roused.
home loving, caring........we are not a bad bunch really are we.
