I say first come first served. If it is open, take it. If it becomes an issue, this will give you the opportunity to tell your boyfriend how you feel.

I'd park in the driveway even if I barely knew the person. It's not a big deal, and if someone else comes along, it's not going to be a big deal for them to park on the street. On the other hand... after nearly 5 years, why haven't YOU moved in?

If you feel slightly degraded by parking on the street while the in again out again kids keep getting the garage, then take it if your boyfriend doesn't care. It sounds like he'd be perfectly okay with you parking in the garage. I wouldn't even make a stink about it.. just one day start parking there.. the kid might complain for a second, but they'll get over it.

If it bothers you enough to write to us about it...for goodness sake, move your car to the driveway. The family, whoever it happens to be, is taking the closest spot. That is just the nature of how most people are. You have been very nice all this time and even though you didn't mention if you actually live there, it is only natural for you to have a spot to park.
You have been very nice. Perhaps too nice. Now, just move in to the good spot just like everyone else. Don't add too much meaning to it...I am sure no one else thought about it either.
Just take the spot;-)

He gave you the go ahead. Park in the drive. If the kids have a problem with that, then they should get their own place. They aren't children anymore, so your needs trump theirs at this point. John's just doing them a favor by letting them stay there. They are old enough to know that John has his own life outside of them now, and that that life is you.

Sons never ever!! park in the driveway. They park on curb so they can zoom out and get exercise walking a whole 20 feet. Girls are bad drivers so it might be safer for a curb situation with her too.

He told you to park wherever you want, now I am telling you to park wherever you want, so why are you still choosing to park on the street?

I think you should discuss this with your family. Tell them how you feel.
I think it is your turn to park in the driveway. If he says you can park anywhere you wish, go for it. He doesn't mind, so do not feel guilty about your decision.

use either - is the street that far from the house? use the driveway if it makes you feel better- he obviously doesn't mind he's telling you park where you like - where do you want to park??

he has given you permission to park wherever you want to park . . it is YOU who has chosen to accomodate the kids, so your anger should only be aimed at yourself . . . if you are tired of it, stop catering to them and park your own car in the garage and let them get in where they fit in . . .
