Yeah, I think some people get married for those reasons as well as other reasons. Personally I think it's backwards.

Couple's get married for a plethera (love that word) of reasons..... I am sure some couples have gotten married because of pregnancy (children) and because they feel it's the right thing to be married for the child(ren)... In some cases the couple also has the other ingredience that make for a strong lasting marriage and in some they don't... If a could has a child and wants to give marriage a shot they should... it's always good to know when to get the heck out of dodge before the gun fire begins...
I however can only tell you for certain the reasons I got married....
I met a man who I loved not only for his good points but for his faults.. A man who made me laugh... A man who made me cry... A man who made me giddy... a man who made me scream... A man who can tell me a million words in a glance, a man who can frustrate me with a look... In short a man I couldn't imagine my life without.... Marriage isn't alway pretty sometimes it's like mud wrestling in a pig farm... Alot of crap and it gets on everything....
Ideally a marriage is made up of two seperate complete individuals (beautiful pictures shall we say).... When the two pictures are melded, overlapped, and put together... They create a new picture more beautiful than the individual pictures but still consisting of the two...
That's what I found in my husband that's why I married...

I'm sure that's a reason why some couples get married. I think the only reason you should get married is because you want to spend your life with that person.

marrige is a contract and a promise between two people and God and is binding and fullfilling and should never be enterd lightly for any other reason but love and devotion to one another . haveing said this most people now days get married because their confused between sex and love and only learn later when the new wares off that they dont really want this or they want someone else more . then they divorce and drag others into a hurtful seperation . kids are born out of such relationships and suffer for them and now days its just way too common . haveing kids before marrige is a reason some get married but may not be a good idea because love must be a part of a childs upbringing . two people who have kids out of wedlock must come together and seek perfessional help to decide whats best for them and those precious kids . if theres not love thare they still can actively raise thier kids together but just not under same roof . but if theres love thare and they are just not letting go of their oats then its time to grow up and marry . the point is that the two people must put any bad feelings or resentment aside and come to an aggreement to menafit the kids and themselves. ive seen people vorce their kids to marryy because they got pregnant and it turned out terribly wrong later . everyone is different and sometimes it dose turn in to love but i suspect it was love all along just hidden thare . kids need to have a dad and a mom but if mom and dad are at eachothers thoat then their better off with step dad or mom . they need to see mom and dad glareing at eachother with love in their eyes it learns them what love should be and gives them strength to take on lifes problems with pride they had loveing parents.with all that said i advise for any couples with kids out of wedlock to bring God into this problem by preying and by seeking a professional conserlor thats also a pastor theres lots of pastors that do this and they can give you the whole picture on proper advice . in any case put kids first in both your hearts and listen to your hearts and stay friends no matter what happens . this will always help those kids . good luck

There are a number of reasons -- not all of them valid -- for getting married. The existence of children isn't, in my view, necessarily valid. Fifty years ago, there was considerable stigma attached to having children outside of marriage. Now it's just a fact of life (regrettable, from where I stand, but there you go...)
There is the legal reason: to access the legal and economic benefits (if any) of a recognized marriage.
There is the emotional reason: you want to spend your life with a given person, and to make this committment public.
There is the religious reason: marriage as a sacrament, instituted and blessed by God as the proper relationship between man and woman for mutual support and the raising of a family.
The last 3, the 3rd in particular, have been the basis for my marriage of the last 30 years.

Though there are some people who choose to get married after they have children, most get married before having children. God intends sexual intimacy to be a part of marriage, between a husband and wife who love each other. He intends marriage to be the foundation of the family, with procreation occurring within the marriage, not outside of it. I hope and pray that people choose to get married because they love each other and want to set the right kind of example for their children.

think in this world getting married is a standard procedure. but it may not be what you want.. just that the people around asking when you getting married, when you getting to have kids that make you think that, that should be the way...so depend on individual whether they get married for what reason cause reason varies...

In my experience, love is the foremost reason. Secondly is because we both want to have a family. And this is not only the right thing to do but this is also what God wants us to do.
