that happens to me. i love tennis too! :)
well, there are possibilities of getting hurt and you can't really see.
during the summer, the time zone is different, so the light turns on a hour after dark.
i just sit there and talk with my buddies.
you can look around the area for more parks and try to play tennis earlier on.

Well, playing tennis in the dark would be very difficult for the following reasons: 1. You would have a hard time seeing the ball, and that means you won't be able to hit it well. 2. It's actually bad on your eyes because your trying to focus so hard without any light. 3. It's just plain dangerous, why risk injury? 4. If a shot is out, you may not be able to tell. 5. It's just plainly put, a waste of time. Your not going to have fun, and nor are you going to be doing yourself any good.

The best thing to do is to look on the usta.com website. They have a search engine that will allow you to search for other courts near your area. They will also indicate if they have lights or not, if they are public, etc. The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is doing a huge promotion on welcoming tennis, so they are providing as much options as possible to get anyone involved in the game.
Are there any tennis clubs around your area? Most tennis clubs have at least one or two courts that have lights (in a sense, it is almost a must-have for those who don't get off work until late!). If you are worried about cost, initiation fees, etc., don't be intimidated! There are all sorts of options that clubs can offer you that will fit your tennis needs. :)
Good luck! Let us know if you have anymore tennis/racquet/stringing questions! :)

Tennis is no fun when you can't see the ball. STOP playing when it gets dark!

They have glow in the dark "tennis" balls at Walmart in the pet aisle, so you can play fetch as it gets dark. I don't know if they are real or regulation tennis balls though.

Be prepared to feel pain.
But it can be funny too.
And it improves your reactions...
