that term is relative, each generation there is a star that is far above the rest that he is compared with the former greatest. I still start arguments with my grandfather over who is the best heavy weight boxer. We argue about how i believe Shaq is better than Wilt.
There is no such thing as a best player until they can win a championship all by themselves, there are great players. Michael couldn't do it his first few years in the league, Kobe obviously proved is can't do it without Shaq, Allen Iverson can't do it and neither can Lebron.

So far yes. He was the best for his day and there is no one out there now, that comes close to doing what he has done. The future will tell. Each great player of the past, was great in their time, with the rules and style of play at that time.

i think he was a bit over rated, cuz mainly wat he did was scorin only, he was good, but he wouldn hav been as famous if he was awsom at D and average in offense and he wasnt as good of a dunker. i rly wish scotty pippin could be more famous. i believe there r better playas
