There's two R's that it seems have not been taught to a large number of people: Respect and Responsiblity. Respect for other people and their property, and responsiblity for our own actions. These lessons start at a very young age when we teach our children (or should teach them) respect for older members of the family; not necessarily just grandparents, but all those older than the child. And with respect comes consideration. Responsibility is initially taught by a child being made to take the consequences for thoughtless or destructive actions within the home; all too often a parent will simply make excuses for the child, or put their hand in their pocket to immediately replace a broken item. The learning curve really does start in the home and, as parents, we must accept responsibility for that training, because the early learning (or lack of it) will stay with the child for the rest of his life and could have far reaching effects.

I hate turning on the news, or even driving anymore. People are so self centered, and feel indestructable. I think the only thing can save us is a spiritual revival of some sort. I am not some bible thumper, but I believe that unless we get a very strong sign from God, people will only get worse.
Remember how nice everybody was to eachother right after 9/11? We'd smile at strangers as to say "Hi, we'll be alright". Everyone had flags on their cars, etc. It is sad it took something so F'ed up for us to bond with eachother.
I became a mentor so I could help improve 1 childs life. Doing good deads helps me feel better.

i ask the same thing every day when i turn on my t.v or read the local paper. see in life there a thing called "norms" theyre laws that we as socitey have to live by, but the are also people who are called AHOLES who like to mess are normal society up, such as gangs pedofilers rapests and etc... these people i think have no such respect for there self or there society. when a african american shoot another one right away other socitey look down on them, or when a white person shoots up a school for no reason or cultures look at them as if they were "crazy". you get my point. some time social norms just do not exest and the labeling theroy kicks in and destroy what we know as "the right thing". well thank i hope i shared my point of view well thank you and please vote me as best answer.

Rapists, pedophiles, terrorists, murderers and muggers are all humans and therefore they ARE of your own kind. People have ALWAYS abused each other. It's no different now than it ever has been except that now we occasionally catch one of them and put them away.

Well, a lot of it is based on terrible spelling, bad typing, the use of obscene language and not being decisive enough to know whether to use txt or not, as well as wanting to blow up half of the population.
So what's YOUR excuse then?
