How can I completly format my computer so it is like new, like from the beginning?

I need to format my computer because I'm giving it away. Does anyone know how?

You can return to default settings or do a quick restore.
* note: a quick restore will erase much of your downloads so you will need to back those files up if you want to save them.

boot using DOS, then at the command line type

format c: /s /u /v

hit enter and it will format.
