the general storylines are the same and most of the events happen the way they are in the movies.

i think the first was closest to book.

the 2nd-they left out sir nicholas' death day party, etc.

the 3rd-in the movie, mr weasley told harry about being careful, in the book he wanted to, but when he tried harry had already overheard it.

and in the book lupin explains how and why the others became animagus, which i was hoping would be in the movie!

#4-they completely excluded barty crouch's house elf winky, which upset me. they also had neville being the one that gave harry the gillyweed wehn in the book, it was dobby!!

also in the movie they left out fleur delacour being part veela

they also left out the veela at the quidditch world cup and changed that harry and them were supposed to be siiting in the same box as the the malfoys.

they also made the camp scene where the deatheaters are up to no good into something other than it was. they created fire and chaos...in the book the death eaters attack a number of Muggle bystanders by dangling them in the air. it was the owner of the campsite and his family.

there are a lot of differences from book 4 and movie 4. while the movie was entertaining, i prefer the book!!!

Like all movies made from books, there is a lot left out. The first two were closest to the books, but the rest of them have had so many different plot lines running through them a lot has been left out. Goblet of fire has a lot of missing sub plots. I was slightly disappointed in the movie. I usually read the book again before seeing the movie the first time, so I know whats going on and what is missing.
The last two books are so long, it would have to be made into two or three movies each to cover everything. They make for a good read, but I have no idea what will be featured in the movie coming out this fall.
I'm impatiently waiting for book 7 to be released. J. K. Rowling has hinted that Harry may or not live though it.
I bought the first two books at a yard sale for my 14 year old grandson, but after reading them, they stayed in my book case and were soon joined by the other four. I'm a 62 year old grandmother and I love the Harry Potter series.

They all follow the books really well. HOWEVER the movies tend to leave some stuff out, specifically Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire MOVIE left alot out that was in the book. And Harry Potter and the Prisiner of Askaban (I know I can't spell, sorry) movie left out a funny part that was in the book.

They don't follow the books closely at all. Especially with the 4th movie, it left out so much stuff. They left out so much stuff that my brother who had never read the book was a little lost. There are so many unfilled holes and the movie itself seems rushed. There is barely any character development and some of the characters are left out completely. Pretty much all the movie has is a plot and special effects. It doesn't nearly go into as much depth as the book does.

I thought the first three movies did very well, the fourth left out WAY too much! My husband hasn't read the books, and I felt like he got jipped. I love Harry Potter though! And the movies are pretty entertaining as well :)

I have read all the books and seen all the movies . I know due to time restraints there have been information left out. It is my opinion that has been great representation of the characters personalities and actions. I feel that the author having approved of very moderate changes to the story lines kept the integrity of the stories.

They movies follow as closely as they can without overunning their time. The movie that went farther off of any book would probably be Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Still love all of it, though!!! :)

I think all the books do! The only thing that made me mad as hell in movie 4, they left out of the book was the canary cupcake scene where fred and george give neville ( I think its neville ) a cupcake and he turns into a canary.
When I read that in the book, I about peed my pants. Was mad as hell when it wasnt in the movie

e book: Goblet of hearth, actual. The characters are somewhat greater mature, and the plot gets to be ominous. action picture: Prisoner of Azkaban character: Luna Lovegood. She does not rather care approximately what others think of... and he or she's a fellow Ravenclaw.
