My computer is not working. It says it does not have a certain file. It says I can attemp to fx the problem with the system restore disk, but I'm not finding I cannot but one. I don't know what to do. Could there be another way? What would I have to do for restore my computer. I'm so lost.

Wow how many times are u gonna post the same questions.

Use system restore. If you cant... backup all data on the windows drive and then reformat and copy new version of windows onto it.

When you first turn the computer on, hit F8 to get to the startup options menu. You should see an option to restore from last good start point. Try that, if that doesn't work, try getting into safe mode and do a system restore that way from the last know restore point. If none are available , you'll have to get an XP install CD and do a repair install.

Sometimes you can order them from the computer manufacturer. Call thier tech support and ask.

i would just have the hdd reformatted and do a fresh install of windows. hopefully you have you personal data backed up. good luck - i know this can be stress.
