It's a little tougher for bikes - especially dirt models (or on/off road like the XL).

Magazines from '93 would be your best bet. eBay is a great resource for this, just do a search under 'magazine back issues', http://books.listings.ebay.com/_Magazine-Back-Issues_Motorcycle_W0QQa23713Z24077QQalistZa23713QQcurcatZtrueQQgcsZ1131QQpfidZ1403QQreqtypeZ3QQsacatZ280QQsocmdZListingItemList you can specify the year (i'd look in 92-94) and then your text should be XR650L (search title and description).

The 'zines usually go for $3 or less.

This would give you the 'professional' opinion of the bike.

For a 'consumer' review, check out www.epinions.com

Or, just ask your questions about the model here.

It's a popular bike, and tons of owners will let you know the good/bad/ugly about it.
