for some people its just natural... the best way to get over it is to get out and talk to people...it's usually free and it works.

I do not think there is anything to buy, but here is how I handled the situation. I was (and am) extremely shy. People these days most don't realize this, and probably I will always be shy, but nobody knows.

I evaluated the situation and there were people that maybe 'should' have been shy and weren't and I studied them. I would make sure that when I walked into a room I watched my 'posture', kept my head up and shoulders back and sort of 'sauntered' confidently into the room, a well measure stride. I didn't avoid eye contact, but assumed a confident aire upon my face. (Study yourself in a mirror and practice a 'look that shows' you are relaxed and alert, and above all else, prepossessed with belief in self.

Ask people 'questions', (if need be, compose a list of things to ask about.) People 'love' to answer questions about themselves usually, so this takes the burden off yourself to have more attention placed upon self. 'Act as if you are not shy' and before you know it, it will no longer 'be' an act. When you have people talking, nod your head and comment upon occasion, "I see, oh really, what happened next", or such.

Practice being not shy.

There is no way of curing with money, or treatment. It can be caused by a lack of committment to stand for what you know is right, or seeking the approval of others.

But a short answer would be to learn a martial art, that would be a start.

being shy is sometimes inherited genetically from parents . . and sometimes, it is "in a way" taught, if as a child they aren't brought around lots of different people . . sometimes people are just natural introverts and prefer to be alone . . . it really just depends on the person . . .
