Z-Coil shoes are excellent. They're those fun-looking ones with the heavy coiled spring in the heel. They are expensive, but you can often find used ones on eBay. If you have a Z-Coil store near you, go try some on. Then check out eBay and other reputable online auction sites, like yahoo Auctions. Some places of employment don't allow the open coils; check on that before you buy them. Z-Coil also makes a closed-heel model, but they cost a little more. These shoes do wonders for people who have to be on their feet for extended periods of time. Once you break them in and get used to them -- they require a little getting used to -- you'll wonder how you ever got along without them. I love mine, as you can tell, even though it took a few days to get used to them because my balance is bad. My feet and legs do not get tired like they used to, and my ankle pain is now next to nothing. I no longer limp!

I used to buy US mail carrier shoes at a store that sold clothing for nurses, police, etc. but it closed down.

I now wear rockports. They are a little more expensive, but worth every penny.

They even have a line of "dressports" for those special occaisions.
