Because the Bible tells us so. Marriage is the act made by two people of opposite sex who made a covenant before God that they will commit themselves into a love relationship for as long as they live. The husband should see to it that he give respect to his own wife and in the same way the wife will should submit herself to his own husband. Therefore their physical bodies belong to each other alone. God forbids adultery and fornication. Adultery is the sin of committing sex outside marriage while fornication is the sin of committing sex before marriage. The reason for this is because God is holy and he desires His people to be holy as well.

The Bible calls it sin. We believe the Bible. If you read the posts in here you will see the results of sex outside of marriage. Most of the posts are desperate wanting to know what to do. Sin is like that. . . satan wants to kill, steal, and destroy and that is a perfect example of why Christians believe that sex belongs only in marriage under the protective relationship that is marriage.
