You should just be honest with your son and tell him that you have no control over the situation/I feel for your son as I lived through this type of situation. one day your son will be very grateful to have had such a caring mother. also you could try and get your son involved in other area like w/ a mentor if that type of thing is offered where you are. sounds like you are very interested in doing the right thing and believe me it will pay off in the long run. keep up the good work! by the way someday his father will realize that he was the one who missed out!!!!!
Good Luck and have a good day

The best thing for you to do is to pray for your son that God will help him overcome the pain he is experiencing on a regular basis. You can seek your father's help by inviting him over to stay with you, you know, to act as a father figure on behalf of your estranged husband. Invite your friends to come over who has children so that your son may have a company of his age. Cook him good meals and make him feel that he is not alone that you are still there to support him and love him at all times. As much as possible, make him feel comfortable by introducing some new activities where the two of you can have fun together. Saying that you love him no matter what happens.

As a father of 5 children and someone who grew up without a father i can tell you this. If his father doesnt want anything to do with him then find someone that will. If you have brothers then ask them to spend extra time with him, If you have a boyfriend then encourage him to take interest. If you have no one to turn to then check out your local big brother orginization. A young boy needs someone to look up to, someone to guide him, someone he can admire and that will set a good example. A young boy needs someone to spend time with doing things like fishing and camping and playing sports etc, etc, If it were me and i had a brother then thats is who i would ask first and i would do it soon before there is any more emottional damage. A man has a way of explaining things to a boy in a way that they will understand so maybe who ever you find to help will help your son come to terms with the fact that his father isnt going to be there for him.
I hope i have in some way helped to answer your question.

Well

No Matter what
woman can't Replace a man, Either Man can't Replace a Woman Place

so therefore
You Need to Talk to someone who can Talk to Your x-husband
and Tell him the Important of Him To His son
Someone can Effected Your x-husband by Talking To Him

I Hope that will work

everything but counseling... there is something a counselor can do that you can't..... thats hear all his secrets and pains that he feels he can't share with you....for whatever reason....plus his feelings of abandonment you can't understand unless your parents left you.... seek counseling
